We start the walk near the Swan and Two Nicks picking up the Bridgewater Canal towpath and walking it towards Lymm. Passing the Old No3, the canal moorings and boatyards on the way. Then over the humpback canal bridge and into Spud Wood which gives the guys lots of forrest tracks and open spaces to play and run around in.
The woods also give plenty of shelter on hotter days. If your dog likes to take a dip especially on a hot day then there are easy access points into the canal to do so.
We retrace our steps on the way back down the towpath ending up back at the Swan and Two Nicks pub. The walk is approximately 5/6 miles with rests when needed.
This walk is usually undertaken mid week.
This walk is suitable for the most low energy plus dogs but we suggest that during the hot summer, dogs that may overheat are best to avoid this walk due to the length of unshaded towpath. Simply call us if you want to know if we feel your dog may not be suited to a long hot walk.
